Created in 1979, Action contre la Faim is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principals- independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency - has been part of its identity for 45 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters.

Action contre la Faim focuses its actions on 7 main areas of expertise: Nutrition and Health - Mental Health, Psychosocial Support - Food Security and Livelihoods - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene - Advocacy - Climate - Research. In 2024, Action contre la Faim provided aid to more than 26 million people in 57 countries worldwide. 

Mission:

Under the supervision of the Country Director, your missions will be to:

  • Act as advocacy focal point for the mission by providing direct support to the mission, develop positioning, strategic engagements, and identifying recommendations
  • Work with the program and support teams, as well as local partners, to build their capacity in advocacy, and ensure that programmatic data and analysis is available for advocacy, communications and other related objectives
  • Develop and implement ACF advocacy Afghanistan strategy and outputs, in line with ACF global and mission strategy
  • Develop and carry out external communication initiatives which relate to ACF mission, in line with ACF Afghanistan and global advocacy strategies to influence external stakeholders

Profile:

  • You hold a Master's degree in International Relations, International Humanitarian Law, Social Sciences, Politics, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • You have proven experience in humanitarian advocacy, including high-level representation, negotiation, and influencing aid policies.
  • Experience working in insecure or volatile environments is highly desirable.
  • You have a strong ability to analyze and synthesize complex issues into strategic insights, along with experience in humanitarian or development aid and project management.
  • You have solid knowledge of IHL, humanitarian principles, the broader humanitarian system and demonstrated strategic and critical thinking, with excellent command of advocacy tools and processes, as well as diplomatic, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • You are fluent in professional English, with advanced writing abilities.
