2025 Annual Election

In 2025, the Environmental Peacebuilding Association® (EnPAx®) will hold its seventh round of regular elections. This year, members will elect people to the following positions:

Vice President (one position)
Directors (three positions)
Young Professionals Director (one position)

There are four criteria for candidacy for any position:

  • the nominee must be a member of the Association in good standing (i.e., has paid his or her membership dues);
  • the nominee must be willing to serve if elected;
  • the nominee must run for only one elected position; and
  • the nominee must not hold a position in another organization that could be considered incompatible.

The Association is a globally diverse network, and it seeks candidates with diverse geographies, genders, races, ethnicities, cultures, and professional and technical disciplines and experience.

Members of the Board, including Officers and Directors, hold terms of three (3) years.  These terms are staggered.  Directors may be re-elected for one additional consecutive term, and if they serve two consecutive terms they must then wait at least one year before being eligible to commence serving another term.

Members of the Board are responsible for making decisions and voting on the Association’s initiatives. These include (but are not limited to) administrative decisions, new projects and programs, and strategic directions. Each Board member has a specific portfolio of responsibilities and may serve on Subcommittees of their choosing.  The specific portfolios depend on the needs and the Board member’s interest. The Board of Directors meets virtually 4 times per year (via conference calls), with other discussions taking place via email. Since the Association depends on a vibrant and engaged Board, it is important for Directors to be available, active, and responsive. While the time commitment to serve on the Board of Directors depends on the Board member and varies by task and time of year, it is usually 1-3 hours per month for Directors, and 5-15 hours per month for a Vice President.

Candidates may be (1) nominated by other Association members in good standing, or (2) self-nominated. The online nomination form is available at https://environmentalpeacebuilding.org/association/elections/nominee-submission/ (EnPAx members must be logged in to access the nomination form).
