Afghanistan: OCHA: 67 Percent of Afghanistan’s Population Faces Water Scarcity and Drought

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that millions of people in Afghanistan are facing a water and sanitation crisis and are in urgent need of assistance. The organization reported on Sunday, February 1, that 67 percent of Afghanistan’s population is confronting drought and water scarcity, 32 percent rely on unsafe sources for water access, and 18 percent do not have sufficient drinking water.
