Eastern Chad is facing an increasingly complex convergence of climate variability, environmental degradation, forced displacement, livelihood insecurity and governance constraints. Bordering Sudan, Libya and the Central African Republic, the region is also exposed to cross-border insecurity and population movements. These pressures are particularly acute in Ouaddaï, Sila, Wadi-Fira and Ennedi-Est, where livelihoods depend heavily on climate-sensitive agriculture, pastoralism and natural resources.
