The EnPAx Transitional Justice Interest Group is pleased to invite you to an online panel discussion on the environmental impacts of the conflict in Gaza. The session will examine UNEP’s assessment of environmental impacts in Gaza, drawing upon its first report published in June 2024, entitled “Environmental Impact of the Conflict in Gaza: Preliminary Assessment of Environmental Impacts” and, its second report published in September 2025, entitled “Environmental Impact of the Escalation of Conflict in the Gaza Strip,”This event aims to bring together practitioners to share their insights on the report, laying the groundwork for potential further discussion of the matter at the Ottawa Conference. Our panelists will be Mazin Qumsiyeh, Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability, Abeer Butmeh, Palestinian Environmental NGOs Network (PENGON) – Friends of the Earth Palestine, and Ali Helal Abdou, EcoPeace Middle East.
