Conservation International: Environmental Peacebuilding Glossary Promotion Event (A Path to Ottawa Event)

May 28, 2026 | Conservation International

Please join Conservation International (CI) and Environmental Peacebuilding Association (EnPAx) for an interactive session featuring an exciting new environmental peacebuilding resource called the Essential Concepts of Environmental Peacebuilding: An A-Z Guide (forthcoming). The Guide provides a comprehensive introduction to the essential concepts of environmental conflict and peacebuilding by compiling and explaining key terms in an easy-to-navigate A-Z format. The language used to describe, explain, predict, teach, negotiate, and form policy in the arena of environmental peacebuilding is often nuanced, evolving, and contested. This book fills a gap in the literature, by providing a more consistent understanding and approach to key aspects of environmental peacebuilding.

Over the past ten years, CI has demonstrated that protecting nature and human well-being requires conflict sensitivity and innovation to bring diverse actors together for developing peaceful solutions. This session will bring together CI staff and partners for a dynamic learning event using the comprehensive A-to-Z guide to increase understanding, spark ideas for using the glossary and foster connections within the EnPAx community.

The session will be held Thursday, May 28 from 3 to 4 pm both online and in-person at CI. Please RSVP to jedmond@conservation.org by May 25, 2026. Zoom link will be provided. Please forward to colleagues who may be interested as well!

We welcome in person attendance and will host a small cocktail reception after the session from 4 to 5 pm. CI is located at 2011 Crystal Drive, Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22202. We hope to see you in person or online!
